Taking a break

I am posting this entirely for my own benefit, so I am reminded that I said it, and hopefully therefore refrain from the temptation to look back here. It's clear to me that there's a small handful of people in this forum who just want to be offensive, or who are plain stupid. I've come to the conclusion that I don't like the side of my personality that is revealed when I am forced to deal with such people. I guess the death knell for this forum was when Oakman started his little forum ( which is no better than this one, I have no intention of going there, that would be pointless ). I'd rather spend my time having reasonable discussions and getting some work done than getting sucked into the bottomless pit that this place has become. The core issue then, is that I won't be moderating in here. Anyone else want to put their hand up ? Not that I get to choose, but I wouldn't mind having a name to present to Chris when I tell him I have quit.

It is true that you become a dick quite easially: http://www.codeproject.com/Messages/3515965/Re-GISS-2010-warmest-spring-ever.aspx[^] I make a perfectly good point about the complete inconsistency of scientific statements regarding climate (all during a period when CO2 was increasing) and all you say is 'bleat bleat, I am right and I cant be bothered explaining why to you'. You dont even have much to discuss about guitars, which lets face it, is far more inmportant in life than religion. ;P What is odd is that you shy away from a forum that brings out what you see as the bad in you. Shouldnt you use this forum in order to set your house in order? :)

Oops, I hope I didn't cause this.. I would make these posts in /b/ but there it's even worse than here.
No-one 'caused' it especially. I've been thinking about this for a week or so. The last few days did seem to reinforce my thoughts on this, but it's something I've been definitely thinking about for a few days at least.

No-one is perfect. I can try to subject myself to conditions that make it hard for me to be the way I'd like to be, or I can try to be the best I can be. I prefer the latter, I know I'm not perfect, I don't have to pretend that I am.
