http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/07/14/photos-noaas-carefree-climate-station/#more-21892[^] Its above a concrete and tarmac area, sheltered from the wind, and near an outside fire. Any wonder it reads record highs.... Here is a web site with a lot of info on stations and how many are badyly located: http://www.surfacestations.org/[^]

Is that supposed to be a quote from one of the links? It doesnt exist on either of them.

No, it's a quote from George Carlin. Call it editorial commentary. ;)

So I am ignorant of US culture (didnt he do Acmed th edead terrorist perhaps) and you are ignorant of probably the best comedy on UK televisionin the last 20 years. Which is a loss to you, as it is really extremely funny. If you get a chance look for "Red Dwarf Polymorph" on youtube. :) You should wet yourself laughing. Or in fact any of the 24 hours of Red Dwarf produced is very funny.

Red Dwarf!?!? Funniest thing on UK television for 20 years? How sad for them... ;) (I mean it has it's moments, but if that's the best they've managed in 20 years, maybe they should leave comedy to the pros. Stick with what they're good at. I hear their cuisine is ... memorable...) :-D

Nah, Achmed the dead terrorist is Jeff Dunham. George Carlin did straight-up comedy... Seriously genius stuff... One of the best comedians of all time, I think, and the guy had been doing it for over 50 years. Since you're so into the Global Warming stuff, you'll probably love this[^] bit from him (Text, strong language, so might be NSFW) One of his best ever, in my opinion... That and his "There is no god" bit :)

Truth be known I havent been in the UK for 9 years so I am not exactly up to date. But at the time, and even today when I watch it, it has the ability to make me laugh my head off. As for US comedy.... Well, some films are good, but usually in a gross out way, which isnt really humour. (Brass Eye can do that way better). As for series, nah, US comedy is crap.

Don't judge our comedy by Hollywood films... Judge it by actual stand-up comedians. Some of my favorites: Robin Williams (His stand-up, not his movies - A bit hyper, Lots of good impersonations) George Carlin (Intelligent rants) Lewis Black (Political, mostly anti-government) Dennis Miller (Intellectual, very intelligent but too many obscure references for most people) Jeff Dunham (Ventriloquist) Mitch Hedberg (Stoner jokes) Plenty more, but that's a start...

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?
