and your point is?, I can give you links to thousands of videos of gunfights between the mexican army and the drug cartels. If you want to blame someone about this problem, blame yourself junkie, you and all the junkies like you in the US created the demand, the violence will no longer remain just in Mexico, they are not afraid, they have better guns than the ones you can have. You thought that consuming your pot would not create problems? that the violence would never reach you? again, you're so wrong, prepare yourself, because of you and others, this will be reaching you soon, you and all the junkies created the problem, so now live with it. I don't even understand why Mexico has to fight a war against drug dealers, they should just let the drug get to the US let the americans deal with their own problem of drug consumption.

The problem is prohibition, and the government is responsible for that. We seen the same thing with the mafia when alcohol was illegal.

Automatic weapons are rather easy to get, same with pistols(though I'm interested in how they could tell it was 9mm, not 11mm, .22, or .45), grenades slightly harder, not impossible to build your own, probably far easier to get in Mexico. So what's the solution then? Harass everyone who looks Hispanic because they're obviously narco-terrorists? Force everyone to carry around papers proving they are in fact American citizens, so that officers untrained in detecting false documents can check them? Or we can go and deploy out entire army on our border, lock it down, and proclaim how safe we are from those Mexicans, who are now using boats instead.

End prohibition and secure the borders. The government created this mess.

So what action have you taken to stop the 'War on Drugs'?

What benefits will bring if the government ends the prohibition? having more people using drugs and not being responsible of their acts? like with alcohol? drinking and driving sounds familiar? and that's a "legal" drug, that's what you want? some statistics for you related to alcohol and driving - Drunk driving deaths accounted for 32% of the total amount of United States car accident deaths in 2008. - 1,347 children ages 14 and younger died as occupants in car accidents in 2008. Of those deaths, 216 (approx 16%) were the direct result of drunk drivers. There are more, how much do you think the numbers will increase if they legalize drugs that have the same or worse effects than alcohol? I'll dare to say, the numbers will double at least, so 432 kids (if we double the numbers) will die because a junkie like you decided they could drive while high or drunk?, why those kids have to pay for your or others stupidity and lack of responsibility? and when things get worse with legalized drugs who will now the one you will blame? the government again?, will be like blaming McDonald's for making you fat and for your last two heart attacks, but still you keep having 3 super size meals a day there... good job!!! Secure the borders? how? creating a big wall (like they did a few years ago)?? that won't stop them, drugs are still flowing to the US, it doesn't matter how long, high and deep is your wall, it doesn't matter how many border patrol agents you put, it doesn't matter how much technology you use, drugs will still be coming to the US, you know when that will stop? when you and the other junkies stop using them, when you stop thinking it's healthy to snort cocaine or smoke pot or use pills, when the demands drops is when the violence will stop, is when the drugs will stop coming to the US. In the meantime, enjoy the violence you created, because now that is in the US, it will spread like a virus all over the country and until you stop using it (and when I say you I mean you junkies all over the country) things will be getting worse every day. And also be prepared, Mexico's current president supports the war against drugs, but in 2 years elections are coming and people down there is fed up of this war, so be sure the next president probably will stop the war against drugs, so the problem will get very bad for the US. Next time you think is healthy to smoke pot think it twice, think about the next time you go out to buy it, you don't know if you're going to be involved in a fight between rivals trying to gai

Personally I say legalize it, and place an automatic maximum penalty to any crimes committed while under the influence of any of them. Tax the drugs, enforce some basic safety standards on them, and treat it otherwise like we do all the other stupid crap people do that could get them or others killed. Not that I expect that to work, but I don't expect it to be legalized either.

We have people here who do that already. But I'm the same kid who watched a bunch of drunks behave like asses most of his childhood and can hardly bring himself to drink socially because of it. So I probably have an odd look on things.

Um, if they ended the prohibition why secure the border? Wouldn't the narcotics runners profits be cut enough to push them out of the market, thus ending the major concern?

I can see what you're trying to do. It won't work. Find a nice vid on youtube showing drunken teenagers smashed on beer driving of bridges and Wee Parts might understand.

And probably you're right, maybe legalizing the drugs can help ease the problem presented, but I still think of all those that drink and drive and cause accidents; we can say that the percentage of accidents is too low compared on how many miles cars travel every day, but that brings again the number of 216 kids killed by drunk drivers, those drivers are in jail, but because of their lack of responsibility 216 kids will not be able to enjoy their lives. Like you said regulating, penalties, taxes, etc will fail to the purpose, so if today, because the consequences of using drugs many restrain themselves, why open the door to use them?, if you have 50 million of junkies (or more) opening the door probably will create 75 million or more of junkies. I think the solution for the problem is not legalizing drugs, has to be more focused on educating junkies on the effects and consequences of using drugs, I don't care if Chef See Sharp uses drugs or not, if he wants to throw his life to the sewer, fine with me, it's the consequences for using drugs what drive me crazy, who can tell me he won't drive one day, high on drugs of course, thinking he's Lewis Hamilton (google the name), on the same freeway as me, and because his stupidity I get killed in an accident with him? why do I have to pay with my life? and I'm using the driving example, but there are more that can be used.

I want to die like my grandfather- asleep, not like the passengers in his car, screaming!
