You are talking about altering what already exists, changing the parameters of the machine, reprogramming it. I am fully against this. Talk about an environmental catastrophe, and if we start doing this to sentient beings then we might as well declare earth as hell.

I am saying that intelligence created the universe. Hell, for all we know this is a grand experiment in a controlled lab setting in a universe far greater than this. Our universe could be a 4004 compared to the next century's computer systems.

Untrue! I'll demonstrate. Challenge: Prove that I don't have unlimited cosmic powers. Proof: Pillowpants is still intact, and hasn't been disintegrated. Oh wait... I might have decided to keep him around for my own personal amusement. Nevermind... You're right. :-D

Well, short of poof we don't know where the most basic components of the universe came from, so we'll always being using something that already existed. However I've seen a few reports of taking the basics and using them to create something. Basics from various levels, all of which may eventually lead to construction of an organism from the genetic or cellular levels.

You assume, to me I fail to see the patterns or logic I would expect in something created by an intelligence. Particularly any given intelligence.

You are still going on about religious textbooks written by man. You have not proven that there is no intelligent design of the universe.

Those who claim the universe was designed, in any way, carry the burden of proof. There are no scientific evidence that it was, just a bunch of "oh it's too complex for me to comprehend, hence it must've been designed by someone that is more intelligent than me"-statements. In fact, every time one of these ID clergy men has given the world "irrefutable proof" for ID, scientists have shot it down with simple scientific proofs. Some ID "researchers" have even been too dumb to understand the scientific proofs, to the point they thought the proof was in their favor. If I recall correctly, it was Behe (chief ID-clergyman) that just wouldn't understand that his theory of rotors and bacteria was shot to hell. As science progresses, ID people have to move back, until there is no more space to back out of. Then they will have to make the insane statement that the universe itself was created by something outside the universe. Since we cannot ever know what, or if, there is anything beyond our universe, making such a statement is ridiculous and quite stupid. Since our own observations are limited to our universe only, any statement about everything that is not in our universe, cannot be shown to be either true or false. It simply isn't possible. That's the road where ID people are heading. If you wanna go there, fine. Just don't expect that thinking people will follow...

As an engineer, I marvel at the complexity of the machine known as a single cell. A single cell is mindbogglingly sophisticated. The body of a large animal is just mindblowing. No man could ever create such a machine. The animal has lived on this planet for over a billion years, and has adapted to its surroundings, managed to power itself, and managed to become self aware and solve the mysteries of the universe.

Says the guy, who is too stupid to know how to correctly write "you're". Says the guy, who thinks he is a pharmacist, because he does drugs. Says the guy, who thinks he is an engineer, because he says so. Says the guy, who thinks he is a chef, because he is allowed to scrape the rancid grease out of the pans of the local waffle house. You are our hero, pizza boy.

The fact that you exist is enough proof that the universe was created, stick you head in the sand and keep thinking you are the greatest thing to ever exist, and that the tall buildings around you is all there is.

yo dick head, of course the universe began, but there was nothing before it. Time also was created at that moment. Your problem is your stupidity. Pizza College does not teach things beyond the mildly difficult. Having a degree in physics and undergoing a second degree in evolutionary biology does give me rather an advantage, educationally speaking, on a guy like you who has barely managed to get beyond Dr Seuss.

Not at all. The universe could be æternal. Perceived existence within a universe merely confirms the existence of that universe to the perceiver. The nature of that universe is merely a conjecture on the part of the perceiver, the accuracy of which is dependent upon the range and acuity of the perceiver's senses and cognition.
