This ain't about knowing you. Nobody gives a shit about you. You are a "perfect citizen"; domesticated, servile, docile, suggestible, ingests his highly processed and chemicalized food, and licks boot with pride.

It's like writing a smarter SQL query to a database that already existed. Someone could write an OSS equivalent. Also, international law should restrict more forms of data mining and put it in together with espionage - not everyone almost no one has enough of a clue to stay safe.

That is a typical SAP (stupid americunt plan), but as usual one could just use an encrypted VNP to get around it.

They will get into those too. The Patriot Acts allow the government to break into anything, electronically or physically without a warrant if you are suspected of terrorism. Here is the definition of a terrorist. "[An] act of terrorism, means any activity that (A) involves a violent act or an act dangerous to human life that is a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any State, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or of any State; and (B) appears to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by assassination or kidnapping." Notice "to influence the policy of a government by intimidation". Say a tea-partier mails in a bag of tea to the whitehouse with a note saying, "Taxed enough already". Or some guy says "throw them out of office, throw them in jail". They are then legally terrorists and the government will crackdown on them with extreme force.

How would they get into them?? Can they crack the encryption or something? And that's just weird, most criminals all over the world are terrorists that way.. edit: and lots of other people. Is digital piracy a criminal violation or something less serious?

Now if only they would allow us peons to access this powerful software online, the same one the government has access to.

Recorded Future strips from web pages the people, places and activities they mention. The company examines when and where these events happened (“spatial and temporal analysis”) and the tone of the document (“sentiment analysis”). Then it applies some artificial-intelligence algorithms to tease out connections between the players.

On the part that it does "sentiment analysis".

their biggest asset is FEAR. They instill it on many people they people think that they are capable of doing ANYTHING. See how many criminals are on the loose See how many acts of crimes are committed every day ( I'm talking major ) See How many terror are planted and executed. See how many high value people are slipping from their hands.... basically, it is very easy to target a known target and monitor it, but you can not sweep the whole <insert your term> under the rag.

They do (try reading your links): Recorded Future for Developers Developers can access Recorded Future data and analytics through a web services API (documentation available to registered Recorded Future customers). Queries to the system are expressed using json[^] and results are provided as json or csv text. The API can be used to interface Recorded Future with statistics software such as R[^] or visualization software such as Spotfire[^], as well as proprietary analytics applications. Examples of applications of the Recorded Future API include: *Algorithmic trading – using the Recorded Future data stream to enhance automated trading/risk decision making, e.g. by monitoring momentum and sentiment development of companies in a portfolio. *Media monitoring – building new applications that monitor social as well as traditional media coverage of a company, industry sector, organization, or country. *Dashboards – using the Recorded Future data stream to display novel, externally oriented, indicators of the world. *Geographical information accessed through the API can easily be used to present results in 3rd party applications such as Google Maps and Google Earth. So, all Henize Software has to do is raise the cash, and hire a software engineer.

Don't be silly. The government has its own version of Microsoft, Google, ..., software. Why would Recorded Future be any different?

It isn't about stopping crime. It is about predicting political and financial trends, getting corporate information so that corporations on the inside get a heads up and can act, and making sure the ruling class stays in power.

Er, yes it could be. At the moment, Recorded Future's clients are: * Investment and trading strategy firms * Marketing, brand awareness & monitoring groups * Public relations & crisis management, advertising corps * Intelligence analysis, national security & defense agencies Clients who have the intellect to grasp the utility of the tools on offer. Hence a pitch to these will result in thousands of sales. Not saying that the local police forces are dim, but their bureaucracy requires repeated pitches resulting in only a handful of sales. When these tools are generally accepted, they will be used to aid crime prevention (and solution).

                                        It is also about that.

On the inside? The inside of what? Oh, you mean belonging to the inner clique of the ruling class. Well, that will limit sales volumes. More likely it will be used by investors - more sales that way.

I can join the ruling class for only $149 a month? Wow! It is just a tool, Cap'n Bells. Its utility is dependent upon the intelligence of those who use it. Rather like the internet, which can be used to educate oneself, or merely to reinforce one's innate prejudices.
