It gives me no pleasure to say this. But cataclysmic climate change is going to happen, with all its promised attendant devastation, and neither you nor I nor anyone in power is going to do anything about it.[^] Your kinda chick

So do you agree with her assertion?

That's called seagull management (or sometimes pigeon management)... Fly in, flap your arms and squawk a lot, crap all over everything and fly out again... by _Damian S_

I'm not well enough informed to have opinions about GW that I'd be willing to argue. It would seem unlikely though.

Does it matter if it's global warming though? If you take her premise that nothing will get done because it's hard then what?

Then we'll surely run out of resources at some point. I dont buy it though, I see things being done all over the place.

Russia and Pakistan. And thats her argument? One, a country that has only existed for 50 years, so no surprising its the worst flood in its history (but dont forget where flood plains come from and why people like building on them). And as for Russia, last I heard it was the worst for 130 years. She says 1000. Which is clearly a lie since records dont go back that far. Anyway, so what? Its the coldest july in the arctic on record, and as I am sure you know Australia has been breaking cold records this winter. (As well as south america). So its climate, it changes, its natural, its normal. There is still no evidence whatsoever that man made CO2 is having any effect at all on temperatures.
