Why waste all of that ordinance? One nuke would do the trick. And whilst we are on the subject why the fuck can't the Pakistan government stop spending money on supporting those fuckers and building nuclear weapons and not look after their own people? Fucked if I'm going to donate a brass farthing and neither should anyone else. As awful as these disasters are why are the governments of these countries never able to cope but manage to build huge armies and spend money on palaces etc?

People get the police force they deserve. So fuck the Afghanis. This is what they want, this brutality is all they know, so pull out of Afghanistan now, and close the border. Let no-one in and no-one out. They want the Taliban to rule them, so let them. If they didn't want this they would do what every decent country in the world has done, had a revolution to overthrow the dictatorial and impose democracy, but they won't. Do not give any money to any country that refuses to become westernised. If you wish to remain stuck in the bronze age and help the terrorists that fight the west then you can fuck off when the shithole you live in becomes a little shittier with natural disasters.

Agreed. Actually, I'm not sure that I do agree. I think it'd be a mistake to assume that just because people are being ruled by the Taliban, then they want to be ruled by them. A lot of innocent people are suffering in unimaginable ways, and there doesn't seem to be any method of solving it.

Where does aid money go anyway? NGOs and Swiss bank accounts. Its pointless giving any aid to anyone via any intermediary group or government. Almost none oif it actually helps people.

Yeah, the Taliban is fucked up. They do serve one purpose, though - they're an excellent example of a group of people that deserve to suffer and then die in a most horrific fashion. There aren't too many of those, in my opinion. At least they live in squalor and poverty.

If you can stomach it there is a video somewhere on the net showing two guys being stoned to death. It isnt pleasant.

"The Taliban convicted both to stoning to death, some from the crowd started throwing stones at the couple until they died," Mr Satar said. The couple had their hands bound behind their backs and were forced to stand in an empty field as their sentence was carried out, he said. [^] Carpet bomb the entire fucking country.

I've noticed there are a number of cultures where people ignore the coutnry's or nation's needs. Nigeria, Afghanistan etc.. There needs to be a major rethink about this as we seem to be pouring resources (money and lives) in without really changing anything.

actually the chances the population will revolt against the Taliban are slim to none. As anyone who tries to organize any sort of change in power is looking at best at being horribly executed (and most likely at extreme torture for himself and his family).

So what you are saying is: "If you want the world to leave you alone and let you be a right bastard to everyone you can get your hands on, then just be a really nasty bastard rather than a mildly nasty bastard" Sorry, but that seems a little simple to me. I'm not trying to defend the Taliban - I'm not sure they are defendable - but to say "Let them get on with it as long as they don't come out and do it to us" doesn't sit right.
Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

it's because we approach those countries with a western point of view (rights of the individual, code of conduct, Janeva convention etc). Where as the common attitudes in those countries is the degradation of anyone not of the ruling elites (which means anyone of different religion/sect, women etc) and the absolute disregard to other people's rights and lives (which means it's perfectly OK to use women and children as human shields, rape and torture anyone, bomb anything and anyone, enslave the population etc). Until we get into Grip with the fact that you cannot maintain a code of conduct with people who not only don't abide by it but actually exploit it in their favor we'll continue to pour resources into these countries without any improvements.

Gee, you mean you don't think another 30,000 US troops are going to succeed, where the previous efforts failed? ;)

Maybe the problem is a lack of national identity. It seems the various ethnic groups are more concerned with their tribal needs than those of the country as a whole. Which sort of begs the question 'are these true nations to begin with, or some artificial conglomerate created by colonial powers?'.

There were a bunch of young Asian guys (presumably of Pakistani origin) collecting on behalf of the flood appeal at Canary Wharf station last week. The first thing I thought of is how do I know that they are not collecting for terrorist organizations?

I recall seeing this pattern repeated year in and year out and nothing ever changes because the people in charge don't want change: they just take the money we send and spend it on themselves. Well fuck them: if we cut aid and stopped selling them weapons (naive hope at best) maybe something would change but we're not incentivising them to leave the 14th century and all that happens is that they want to drag us back to their level. It's a good job my finger is not on the nuclear button cos I'd have pressed it long ago.

Yeah. After such things there's no insight or personal revelation on my part; it just makes me hate them. I realised this and declined to watch a video made by some serial killers in Dnepropetrovsk.

There are some very sick puppies out there: we all moan at the police but, for the most part, they are all that stand between us and madness.

I agree. I've never understood why people say "fuck tha po'leece" after, for example, they're busted for speeding without a license in a stolen vehicle under the influence of alcohol with five kilograms of heroin and their girlfriend tied up in the boot of their car.
