Mutiple Web Configure File Problem
-
Hi All, I need to use different login forms for different folders with forms authentication. So i am using different web.config for each folder. Now if i write authentication tag in any sub folder's web.config it shows this error. (It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.) I need it urgent, can u help. Thanks in advance.

One it would be helpful to see what elements you trying to use in the web.config files. Two, saying it is urgent is very rude. This is a volunteer site and people will answer, if at all, on their time, not yours.

maybe you need to look to the property of allowDefinition in your machine.config (C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG/machine.config)?? it must be set to MachineToApplication.

If you have web.config files in lower level directories, these directories must be Applications in IIS as well.
