wrong message: email cannot be sent

Hi All, while sending e-mail using workflow, message displays: email cannot be sent, whereas, email goes successfully plz. give me some idea, to resolve it, as it displays the wrong message, the user thinks that mail is not sent, whereas the goes to the recipient successfully. Thanks in advance. Ram

If it's an OOTB workflow then try to check the sharepoint log.
