Apart form the program being typicaly, for the BBC, biassed and inaccurate; http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/documentaries/061013_globalwarming.shtml?comment=response#comment[^], the comments make interesting reading. Here are a few: "emilie, ethiopia I am 12 years old, and in Science class we learned about global warming and watched Inconvinient Truth, and i come from Holland, and I was practiacally crying! Please you grownups got a chance to live a peacefull life what about us kids, our children (in the future maybe!) Maybe we want to also live! The world is beautiful but we are destroying it!!!!Please help in stopping this! This is my poem, We save earth, earth saves us! " "ayşegül,Turkey we all need to take action to prevent this holocaust " "jane i am horrofied at this because i may die at 14 which is awful so tell people on the news and radio too help do something about the global warming " Christ knows what is being said to these kids in school to make them feel like this.

As I said to my son, Fuck 'Em. There is nothing going to happen in your life, or the lives of your children. It will be many many generations before anything crappy happens and you don't know these people. The world will change as it has done for the last 4.6 Billion years, so deal with it. We cannot stop the continents from reforming into one giant landmass again, and that will screw everything, so why worry.

It was no different when I was at school. Acid rain should have made Holland uninhabitable according to what we were taught yet here I sit at my desk. Despite this, and despite what you think of me I'm not a raving greenie. Could have something to do with the fact my parents also discussed these things with me, my father used to refer to the education system along the lines of "a fucking bunch of left-wing-do-gooding hippy lunatics" Kids also overstate things, they're suckers for peer pressure and many want to suck up to their teachers. I expect that when my kids go to school they'll be subject matter I dont agree with, probably that the white man is entirely responsible for the plight of the Australian Aboriginals, and we'll talk to our kids about it if appropriate and show them there are other points of view.

The human effect on the planet is caused by over population and consumption of natural resources, that has to be a problem regardless of global warming or climate change or any other possible related happenings. So the only course of action a person can take to help the future of the planet is to not breed. However if you are going to have no offspring why should you care for the future of the planet?

No way. Just no way. Kids are not this stupid. Someone is trolling the BBC. Especially this:

No. You may die tomorrow (or any other day), and it won't be awful, you'd be too dead to notice. That is not kid, that is troll.

One would hope, but I fear not. I have heard elsewhere that kids are suffering "climate anxiety", aparently about 10% are (in the UK).

And someone was yanking your chain. Though what they should be afraid of is the last few generation's deciding nothing will be their problem anymore and leaving mine and later even more problems.
