I seem to recall Alex making an ass of himself, but he did not directly attack CP or the people who run it. That is what is making me so mad. Lol. I guess there are just some people who are naturally caustic and ungrateful. Personally I have more of a problem with him posting what he considers to be crap articles in the Lounge and ridiculing some poor unsuspecting author who doesn't have English as a first language than with warning people not to download his code. So don't download his code - I'm sure Desktop Bob can hold it's own for a couple more competitions :-D

Lol. I guess there are just some people who are naturally caustic and ungrateful. Personally I have more of a problem with him posting what he considers to be crap articles in the Lounge and ridiculing some poor unsuspecting author who doesn't have English as a first language than with warning people not to download his code. So don't download his code - I'm sure Desktop Bob can hold it's own for a couple more competitions :-D

Dumbest article of the week Clickety[^] Yeah, but I have been looking at a lot of the stuff he posted and have come to a (possibly totally inacurate) conclusion. A. There is a cultural difference. This can cause many different types of confusion, as I find in my daily life, having spent 1/3 of my life in England, and the other 2/3 in South Africa. Often my jokes are misunderstood. I posted yesterday about my brother putting a 12mm drill bit through his toenail. When he told me he nearly pissed himself laughing. I laughed, he laughed, my Dad laughed. South Africans laugh at other peoples misfortunes, provided they are friends with the unfortunate, and the misfortune has not left permanent injury. The guys at work (England) looked at me as if I was a sadistic b*tch when I laughed when telling the story - even though my brother would have been surprised at me had I not been laughing. Cultural differences. B. I think Stephane has high expectations of himself and this overflows to his expectations of others. His articles are good, and he has posted a lot of helpful answers in the C++ / C# forums. I hope that all this negativity about him won't stop him posting on CP. Despite the fact we obviously don't understand each other's sense of humour, he seems to have a lot of interesting thoughts to contribute. And anyway, debate is good for the soul :)

The caustic side of Mr. Rod I don't mind, at one point it was actually quite good because he backed up what he claimed. Ungrateful though is not fine. Mr. Rod is ungrateful. Ungrateful people need to be taught their lessons again IMO.
