<opinion> S.Rod (or Stephane Rodriguez) is this guy who knows about programming, and posted helpfully in the forums, but then started getting an attitude. His posts became insulting, then he posted articles containing profanity, and now he's in a snit over the newly-implemented restriction on downloading from CP (which does not affect him personally at all, and is in place to prevent leechers and reduce CP's bandwidth costs). </opinion> --Mike-- "alyson hannigan is so cute it's crazy" -- Googlism Just released - 1ClickPicGrabber - Grab & organize pictures from your favorite web pages, with 1 click! guess I missed a bit while on holiday... what's the new download restriction? --------------------------------------------- The greenest grass is NOT on the other side of the fence, its the grass you take care of. In addition to what Michael said, he has also posted in some of his articles saying he is not responsible for any damage incurred while running his code until Chris changes things to his liking, and in the discussion on Everett was insulting to Chris and everyone else who works on CP. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002 Hey, at least Logo had, at it's inception, a mechanical turtle. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

well.. that isn't right at all. I'm no moralist by any means... and as anyone who has read more than one or two of my posties...I'm clearly willing to come across as subjective to being dismissed... but I've never found it neccessary to insult or otherwise make anyone less then what they are to make myself larger than I think I am (which is more often than not, not very large)... but I can understand folks being upset at towards Chris (I'm assuming (ack ack.. i soooo have to stop the assumptions) that you mean Chris Muander)... he put quite a fruititious site together and if one finds the need to insult it I should think that the person in question has a less than average... eh hem... ya know... :) --------------------------------------------- The greenest grass is NOT on the other side of the fence, its the grass you take care of. A spider is a program that crawls through the web and grabs what it wants. In this case, imagine a program that iterates through all of CP, and downloads all the pages and all the zips. Imagine what a few of those do to the bandwidth bill for CP and then you'll know why it's been limited to people who are logged in. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002 Hey, at least Logo had, at it's inception, a mechanical turtle.
