I was not keen to perpetuate this, nor would I normally post a private email publically, but when people write to me and use a fake reply address, I am left with no other means of reply. Here is my reply to the email you sent me this morning. Use a real email address please in future. I note however that this means you are well aware of the fact that you don't even need to use a real email address to create a CP account, one more reason that your recent rants are a pile of manure. Time to smell what you are shovelling. From: .S.Rod. Hasn't this gone way out of proportions? I'm not taking any sides in this matter (mainly because I'm not sure what all the fuss is all about), but I can't help but noticing this "CP vendetta" going on, and frankly it bothers me a little. Both of you have written a fair share of articles, and I suspect many people are grateful for it (me included). Why do you have to get aggressive on eachother in public? It doesn't really give a cheery image of CP. Please stop fighting, pretty please? :) -- standing so tall, the ground behind no trespassers, on every floor a garden swing, and another door she makes it clear, that everything is hers A place of abode, not far from here, Ms. Van de Veer

If he does not want me to reply, he should not write. I would have prefered to keep this private, I agree it does not present a good image. Why waste so much emotional energy on someone you consider a moron? You don't have to proof anything. You won't win this fight. You won't turn a moron into a good citizen. Most "real" CPians already made up their mind about .S.Rod., and about you. Be the clever guy. Ignore him. It takes a day or two, then you will laugh at this. Peter :rose: P.S. If he writes again, post his mail in the soapbox. We want our share of the fun  [edit] P.P.S. And get a sighist, dammit! ;) [/edit]

I wish I could have replied without dragging it into here again, and I guess I should have left him to be an idiot, alone, but having written my reply, my reaction was to try and make sure he sees it. What sort of author is he, if he does not provide an address, so he is sure to know when people ask him a question or comment ? peterchen wrote: If he writes again, post his mail in the soapbox. I don't want to idly sit by while some jerk says horrid, untrue things about CP. There are newbies to think of who will think he is telling the truth and they need to be told "No, he is just ungrateful." And I will bet if you were Christian here you would also be arguing right back. We are all very capable of being rational about other peoples situations, but never our own.

pointing a newbie out to one of his posts will easily adjust the newbie's pov. Paul Watson wrote: We are all very capable of being rational about other peoples situations, but never our own. So true. Just I've fought back once to much. It always ended with a frustrating feeling of a minor victory, or the knowledge that I'm right and he's an asshole. I consider it more fun now to be "Have a nice day" (american style), and let him rant against nothing. Some people get really weird when there's no counterpressure anymore  I am sure the CPian "core" stands against .S.Rod's attitude, but I'm not sure if everybody & me supports Christian when he goes far out of (or on) his way. And I don't know if CP really benefits if Christian gets .S.Rod to request withdrawal of all his articles. Pig Pen ;)

Christian, it's absolutely ok to drag it into here if he writes you "anonymously", and I know the anger. Just: rebuttal is best served with a cold smile, on the point of a stiletto.
