    * Bold indicates new messages since 18:36 22 Oct '10 It was about 17:55 22 Oct '10 when I saw this message. Apart from that, I have seen a lot of inconsistency in the system. Many a times the 'new' messages shown are about 3-4 hours old (most of them, if not all, already read by me). I have found a workaround to it. I usually log out and re log in and everything is fine. Is there a way to show messages in last 10-15 minutes or about half an hour in a busy day?

        It's an anomaly in the way the site uses cookies I think. It's not enough to just close the browser instance/session, you need to close all running instances of the browser. (assuming you are on IE 8)

              Have you recently changed to or from Daylight savings? If so you may need to adjust your settings

                I didn't do any such change. I just visited my settings page to confirm it and found that option is not checked. Anyway that problem seem to have gone. I will come back to you if I see it again. BTW, is there any way I can manage duration for a new message display?

                  Yes, sort of. CP shows mew messages as those posted since the start of your most recent session. IIRC it takes 20 minutes of inactivity to end a session.

                  3x12=36 2x12=24 1x12=12 0x12=18

                    You mean I need to be inactive for at least 20 minutes for 'new' indicator to work well. I would rather prefer to hit a refresh and check the messages in last 1-2 minutes. I usually visit CP 2-3 times a day and spend some time in each session. So it would be practically not possible for me to come every half an hour read the posts and go back. Allowing to set the new message indicator timing would be the best option, IMHO.

                    ..Go Green.. The 30,000th post in Site Bugs / Suggestions[^] recently is my 3rd feat in posting the magical numbered post. I posted the 500th and 1000th post in GIT.
