Am I the only one who gets people emailing their projects to you ? My email is stuffed today, because of a 3 MB file, most of which is compiler generated files which should have been deleted, and because my mail program cannot finish the job, I get three emails prior to this one and this one, every time I check my mail. I dunno why, when I check it with webmail or manually, it claims the mailbox is empty. Where is it coming from ? Why am I cursed ? Why did I still try and help this person ? Why is my life LIKE this ? Start sending back silly answers (include easter eggs for "CG Rules" to flash across the user screen in red or something). This should make them think twice about sending you their code for fixing :-D

It's taken me all morning, but telnet is finally working ( there was a problem on the ISP end ) and I've deleted the offending emails. There was another big one, so whoever sent that, if it's a joke I'm not laughing, and if it's your project, delete the compiler generated files first, and if it's over 300k, ask me before sending it, OK ? You are not alone, though I bet you get considerably more than the one (1) I've had to date. It wasn't (thank god) anywhere near 3 MB, but I did get a zip file of a nice image thumbnailer program's source, and was told (not asked) to make it use mine and Norm's Office 2k style file dialog! :wtf: I kept one of the classes in the program that showed how to read property information form files (there was no license information in the source file, what a shame ;)) and then sent my standard "bounced e-mail" message back to the sender to stop them contacting me again. I politely point them to the message boards here on CP if they ask a question unrelated to my article (and incidentially these requests *always* come from that file dialog article), but this person had crossed the line. It's a sad say indeed when I can't even be fussed to write a witty reply in return. :((

That's not a bad idea, but I'd hate to seem standoffish, so that people would be scared to ask me a question at all. I had a guy ask me in an email if I'd mind looking at his project (The guy we both tried to help yesterday with the "too many variables problem"). I said ok, but he says that he couldn't send me the mail because of a mailbox limit. Maybe he sent the project to you instead of me as I have no mailbox limits set. Sorry. Michael Life’s not a song.
