Problem with link pasting in Q&A
-
-
The last letter of the URL doesn't always get pasted while pasting a link in an answer in Q&A forum. I tried 3-4 links and came to a conclusion that this happens only in URLs containing query string. Browser: FF 3.6.12 Please fix this soon.

Also some times whole extension doesn't (Ex. Default instead of Default.aspx)

I've tried everything - html, aspx, with and without a querystring and I cannot replicate the issue you're having. I'm using FF 3.6.12 Can you provide an exact URL that fails, and let me know if it happens when you past at the start, middle, or end of text you've written (tried all them as well and did end up finding a bug when you past on the last character)

I tried various options and here's how you could replicate it. Choose any question from Q&A. Write some text and then try pasting the link. This is what I tried -
Have you tried this: http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=gridview+asp.net[^] (paste the link only)
and the result - last letter i.e 't' gets truncated. My observation: If the link is pasted 1) without any text, it works fine. 2) after some text, the last letter gets truncated most of the time. It worked fine in a couple instances. 3) in between text, works fine. 4) write a word (ex test), select the text and paste the link, damn, the last letter is gone again. [edit] You are right in saying that it happens when you paste on/after the last character/word. But here there are discrepancies as well. Try - a) hello [now paste the link] - works fine. b) hello there [now paste the link] - problem! c) hello (one/two character) [now paste the link] - works like a charm. How the hell is it so freaking random? :omg: [/edit]

I have CDO, it's OCD with the letters in the right order; just as they ruddy well should be
Forgive your enemies - it messes with their heads

No holiday - it's more of a sabbatical so I can focus on things I haven't had a chance to finish throughout the year. :)
