I can RAS in with a modem to our Network with a modem (eek) or better yet, nowadays I can use my existing connection with my DSL modem and create a VPN with work which gives me around 1 meg access. That's certainly not like being on the LAN with 100 meg access, but it's a heck of a lot better than 33.6 or so... Regardless, either way I can get to Sourcesafe on our Network. Once I'm authenticated by our server I'm in. That really makes my life easier when I'm sick or slightly immobile like I am now with a torn ACL. However, however I connect, IT'S SO FREAGIN SLOW!!!! I don't expect blazing speed over the internet, but surely there's a better way? Even just getting file and project listings takes FOREVER. Is there another product available that does this better over the internet?

We user SourceOffsite, http://www.sourcegear.com/sos/, and it works 10x times better than VSS over the Net. It is relatively inexpensive and and well worth the cost. It makes use VSS over the Net work really well. Richard Cue

Very quick reply here: Look into WebDAV. I hear it is good for this kind of thing. www.webdav.org/ regards, Paul Watson Cape Town, South Africa e: paulmwatson@email.com w: vergen.org
