OOOOHHHHH....you make me so mad!!!! Christian Graus wrote: Seriously, isn't England the size of Tasmania though ? Russia is bigger than the US, does that make it better (sorry comrades)? Remember that the UK and other "Small" countries created the societies we live in today. The fact that we made a lot of mess is another thing, the US being a big mess that we helped create. Not to mention India, Northern Ireland, most of africa etc... OK we made a mess, but don't complain because America is about to mess everything up via Iraq. No complaints about empires when america is building one right now.

We brought out this new and very similar version of our expensive software because the old version was......old....It's a good enough excuse for Microsoft so its fine for us.

.....but does everyone in the fecking work think that London *IS* England? For example, Tom Clancy, every time he mentions England/Britain, he goes nowhere outside London. Second Example, Puff Daddy at the EVMA in Barcelona, goes through several countries, "Is USA in da house, Is France in da house, Is Germany in da house....Is London in the house!" No mention of England/Britain anywhere. I could have strangled him! OK OK its the capital, but if every movie made in hollywood was set in Washington and no mention to the rest of the states, their would soon be an uprising of people saying, "There is more to the US than Washington" I don't get it. Another story, My driving instructor was on the west coast US in an airport when someone (american) came up and asked him, "So where abouts are you from, Australia?" So he said "No, Well, do you know Liverpool or Manchester?" She replied "No" Fair enough he thought and said "Well do you know england?" Assuming she'd know that much and he could narrow it down from there. She said "No". So he said "What about the UK?", she said "Oh yeah i've heared of that somewhere, near London isn't it?" DID YOU GUYS GET TAUGHT ANYTHING AT SCHOOL! There is only a limited amount of American history compared to other countries, and the majority of that is civil wars and the war of independance. Who was the war of independance against FFSake!!? Grrrrr...... Sorry if this offends anyone, ive had a hard day.

Yeah, yeah... and everyone thinks Minnesota is freezing cold. We've all got our crosses to bear... But, at least we're not in South Africa, where they have to deal with constant racial strife, unbearable heat, elephants wandering through their houses, and a life of slavery in the diamond mines... ;P Shog9 ------

same thing here... i'm from New York. The state not the city. people ask me, i tell them. they ask me about the crime. i tell them i lived 200 miles from manhattan, they look at me like i'm stupid. i return the look. they swing first, i block, jab and step back. they fall down bleeding. they send a lawyer. i send attack dogs. nothing ever gets done. -c

About 400 miles at a guess...the halfway point between London and Edinburgh is about 15 miles north of York (200 miles or so from London). No, on principle, i try to know a few citys in any country i know. Because the capital city is not the only city in most countries. I also assume that the Capital is not the best city in the country. For example IMHO Istanbul is a much nicer city that Anchara (sp?) in Turkey, yet the latter is the capital.
