Some body has downvoted all my answers HERE[^]. Can CP help towards the reputation misuse or need to live with that only ?

It's happened to me before: annoy some small minded, lazy "programmer" and they spend their time seeking out your messages and down voting them. Live with it - I did - they get bored after a while and go away. The important thing is not to react (or not to be seen to react). If they know it annoys you, they will just carry on. Ignore it, it's not as if rep points are money, and they can't do significant damage to your rep!
Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

That's a quick good suggestion. 5! But I would request you to Chris that as they have made "Reason for my vote of 1" mandatory in article for the people who loves downvoting. He should include it in Q&A as well.

Then anyone can post "Not happy with answer" and downvote.It will not solve the problem. Just leave it alone and after some time it will even out.

That is not a proper reason to downvote I think so person will have further fear to be downvoted himself. ;)

I know they have tried this in the past - I had to enter my reason on a number of occasions - and I don't really think it would help. Probably, it would just increase the number of sock puppet accounts. While I tend to give a reason myself when I do it (and it's pretty rare for me anyway) the idiots would only care if they gave a monkeys about their own rep. Generally, they don't. To be honest, I suspect that being downvoted on a sensible answer can actually increase your rep in the long term. The big-hitters positive vote to counter the idiot downvotes generally outweighs the negative points by an order of magnitude!

In the long term, the only solution that will completely eliminate the problem is to eliminate downvoting. If only upvoting was allowed, the immature members who like to downvote would go elsewhere for their kicks. We don't want them here. You will find in this forum many, many members who complain about being downvoted. Downvoting is a constant source of bad feelings, anger, and desire to "get even". There's no good reason to have downvoting, either. A positive upvote (or no vote) tells you all you need to know.

In the long term, the only solution that will completely eliminate the problem is to eliminate downvoting. If only upvoting was allowed, the immature members who like to downvote would go elsewhere for their kicks. We don't want them here. You will find in this forum many, many members who complain about being downvoted. Downvoting is a constant source of bad feelings, anger, and desire to "get even". I actual disagree with that. I have downvoted answers such as "make the textbox public in order to share it between two forms" - with appropriate comments. I feel that the downvote emphasises to the OP that this is a spectacularly stupid idea, and hopeful discourages the "professional" who made the suggestion from doing it again. Just upvotes, or no votes, does not do that, unless you are quite abusive to the "professional" - which is unfair too.

Unfortunately, for every reasonable use of a downvote - such as the one you described - there are many, many, many more downvotes by immature people people who leave no feedback and only want to cause mischief. CP cannot screen out these idiots, so the best solution is to take their toys away. Whatever positive benefit that downvoting provides is not worth driving away novice members who don't understand that it's not the site that is speaking, but only a few malicious members.

But don't you think we - the CP community - can do better? Don't you think the OP deserves better than to be told "Ignore it"? I do, and I would like to see the problem eliminated. Especially - as in this case - where downvoting causes so many problems, and has no positive effect (except the one I mentioned in the first sentence). But I would like to hear from you, how your downvotes have corrected a wayward programmer leaning toward bad logic and nasty syntax. Which of your downvotes has steered a potential miscreant away from the path of goto's? How many reformed programmers have emailed to thank you for the corrective downvote which turned their lives around? I'm sure you won't bother to look, because we both know there have been none. Such is the legacy of downvoting - bitterness, anger, resentment, and confusion. Nothing positive, only negative. Downvoting doesn't belong in this community.

It's not a case of not bother: with 5336 messages to my name, and 818 Q&A answers, and 493 comments I don't have the time! I would have to examine each one, and there is no way I can justify that kind of activity just to prove a point!
