Those of us well-balanced individuals don't want to go out crusading. We are lazy because we just want to get on with our lives, enjoy our families, better ourselves and keep healthy. Admittedly, I have been away for the past 8 months, but not a single member of my family or friends feel the way this group does. And yet they are in the news making the world think that all white SA's feel this way :mad::mad::mad: So in this world of global communication (you guys living there at the moment should have a good idea of the feeling there and good input on this) is it worth setting up a site to discredit the way these ignorant arseholes are seen? Maybe show them (the ignorant arseholes) that the rest of us feel that the country has enough problems right now without a bunch of lunatics running around setting bombs off, even if they are strategically placed for minimal loss of life. Isn't one person killed one person too many? :mad: Isn't there enough of that? X| This sort of behaviour is only going to cause more anger, hurt and hatred. As for the right winger nutter thing currently most of us see it as a desperate, sad, pathetic attempt by dinosaurs to reclaim their lost man hood. They know the truth of the future but refuse to accept it. Whether they pose a credible threat... I don't know. I feel pretty safe because I am white, but that is no excuse, yet it does isolate me from the real effects. I hope Mbeki cracks down on it (and he has been very good at not branding all whites as part of it which I appreciate) but I also hope it is a understanding, peaceful crack down because anything else will just push borderline right wingers over the edge and start a vicious cycle.

Perhaps won't we always have the chance to avoid to choose a side :( Like anybody else, I try to do the good choices based on my conscience (thus on my education), but I don't want to stay on the line seeing others play the game for me. Too many remain silent when shouting was the only honorable way, I don't want doing the same mistake :suss:

It occurred to me that most of the people I knew had been in jail at some time or other, which led to thoughts about what their parents must have on their bumpers. After a good laugh on the telling of it in bars and such, I promptly forgot about it until a few weeks ago when I actually saw the bumper sticker on a car in front of me! It was generic - no Mohave, just County Jail - but I laughed so hard I was in tears... How I wish now I'd had a few thousand printed and sold in the local pubs. I am myself thinking of setting up a site about my country, its culture, values, etc. It'll try to educate people (foreigners AND Indians) about us, and hopefully help create a better image in the minds of people, Indians and otherwise, about us. It'll try to instill at least some confidence, pride and respect for others, plus tolerance in their minds, and make them get rid of their laid back approach towards life (get up and start working, dammit!). Totally non profit of course, and hopefully I'll be able to bring in some journalists, writers and good editors if I try really hard. :) Well, hopefully I'll have some time to actually start working on it soon. Doesn't look like it'll be sooner than Jan 2003 though. :(

Didn't we talk about a site a month or so ago, exchanging cultural ideas, and educating people? A way to discuss world issues without degrading into a battle of pride.
