http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/2537337.stm[^] Malaysia has warned Australia that any unsanctioned action against militant groups on its soil will be considered an act of war. Most of his [Dr Mahathir] ire was reserved for Mr Howard, whom Dr Mahathir called him arrogant. "It is as if this is the good old days when people can shoot aborigines without caring about human rights," the prime minister said. The exchange marks a new low in deteriorating relations between the two countries. A senior member of Australia's opposition recently told Dr Mahathir to go take a running jump after the Malaysian prime minister suggested Australia should decide whether or not it was part of Asia :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Malaysia appears to be run by morons. Big deal. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002 Hey, at least Logo had, at it's inception, a mechanical turtle. VB has always lacked even that... - Shog9 04-09-2002 Again, you can screw up a C/C++ program just as easily as a VB program. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

Little Johnnie Howard has got all caught up in the excitement of playing with the big boys and got a bit carried away. This achieves nothing other than to piss off our (very large) neighbours.

At least he has the decency to announce it instead of trying to do it in secret like the Yanks have for years. In any case, his statement was not directed at any country, why is Malaysia speaking up ? Do they have something to hide ? Decency?! :wtf: You can't honestly believe that Queensbury rules apply here? Or that Australia would even do such a thing?! Stupidity, more like. Christian Graus wrote: In any case, his statement was not directed at any country, why is Malaysia speaking up ? Do they have something to hide ? Because it was an incredibly provocative thing to say. What would the reaction be here if the Chinese said "we think that there are pro-independence Taiwanese freedom fighters based in Sydney, planning an attack on Shanghai. So we're going to send in our troops to blow them away?" Provocative, and un-necessarily so. There's no way on the planet such a thing would ever happen anyway. Just Johnnie trying to look good in front of his mates. I bet even they're cringing.

How is it behind your back ? :-) Anyhow, my point is simply that John Howard was not making a revolutionary proposal, he just isn't wise enough to know that such things should be done in secret. I suspect that the US is not alone in practicing such things, it is simply the practice of an open and uncensored media that allows such things to become known. Excuse me?!?!?! How would you feel if other countries attacked your country if they think there is a terrorist threat there? The thing is that people are afraid. And people who are afraid tend not to think too clearly.Violating some country's sovereign rights is NOT the way to combat terrorism. It never is. All it does is say that "We got big guns and we can do whatever we like. So Deal". It's just gonna turn a lot of countries that once supported you away. The way things are going now, WW3 looks very real. People in power shouldn't be allowed make decisions with anger, or even fear in their minds. And killing innocents can never be "the greater good" Notorious SMC
