What I don't like about Christmas ...

Most of Christmas is great until they start introducing all that religion stuff. I mean WTF has that got to do with it.
Ok, if you took the above comment seriously you either don't know me, or you are a moron.
What I really don't like is all the commercial crap and traditions that go with it for pagan reasons. They are: 1. Giving useless gifts as a competition. 2. Getting into debt so you can complete reason 1. 3. The gluttony surrounding Christmas. ( I can be glutenous whenever I want, why wait for Christmas ) 4. The logic behind baffling small children with Santa Claus. ( maybe it's to show them not to trust adults) 5. All the crap Holiday and Christmas deals that are scams to get rid of excess stock that is crap. 6. Office Christmas parties, that allow management the piss poor excuse to pretend they actually care about their employees, while the management is really the satan's spawn. Can anyone add to this list please. BTW: if you disagree prepare to flamed well and have your email address and whole address book tracked and pumped into Chineese spam engines for the next 7 years. :-) Regardz Colin J Davies

That is a general discount store for those not here in the states (Household goods, cleaners, cheep electronics and cameras...) Not being a Christian myself, I can keep Christmas separate from religion. ;) In answer to your points 1-6: 1. I normally give gifts only to people very special to me. The rest can get stuffed. :) 2. Because of 1. above this does not happen. 3. I can never be gluttonous. I am so short that if I don't watch my weight I'll start resembling a cricket ball (not even a football) very soon if I put on any weight. :( 4. To take some sort of revenge about the same thing done to them. 5. This I can get for low prices which I can use as gifts for crap people who would not get a gift from me normally but sometimes I do need to kiss people's asses so this helps a lot actually. 6. Atleast this makes them take some money out of their wallet and spend it on employees. (We should have Christmas more number of times per year) And this is not just because I am not a Christian. I am a Hindu, but all of the above would hold true for Holi/Diwali/Dussehra as well. Eid (Islamic festival/holiday) is also celebrated in India, and ditto for that. When I was in my college, living in a hostel, we had a Christian friend who used to come back after the Christmas vacations with a laaaaaaaaaarge Christmas cake (home made) and we all used to eat it. I think those (4 cakes, one each year) were the best I have ever had in my life. Maybe it was that his mom was such a good cook, maybe it had something to do with guys living in a hostel living on Mess food, maybe it had something to do with Christmas. Only problem was, we used to have vacations going on at the time of Christmas, so we could only get the cake when we came back. One thing I like about Christmas is the "spirit". Love and happiness is in the air, and people are much more high sprited and gay than usual. Now only if they remained that way all the year round.

Christmas is all about the love that Jebus showed us when he descended from Heaven and battled the evil Lord Vader in Mordor where the shadows lie and then sat down to some tea and scones with 12 wise men who came bearing gifts of gold and Frankenstein. So don't you dare knock Christmas you ignorant heathen scum!

I spend time with the people I love every day, and treat them well because I want to. The rest is just a crock.
