What the heck does this mean, anyways? That you have money to waste? Any time I see this as part of a person's credentials, I just KNOW that the article is crap. A recent article (I won't say which) demonstrates this point. Just thought I'd get that off my chest. Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.

And to think that I was actually thinking about getting some of those credentials to help me get a job doing what I already love doing. Oh well, guess I'll just stay in my current job of Shift Supervisor at Burger King, earning a measly $7.50 an hour. <NOTE:This message in no means reflects the actuall thoughts, concerns, or opinions of the author, the president, or the rat living in your walls. Technically speaking the dictionary would define Visual Basic users as programmers.
But here again, a very generalized, liberal definition is being employed and it's wrong

IT means you passed any one exam from Microsoft. That includes exams on things like how to use Frontpage. It in theory means you're on the way to a 'proper' Microsoft certification, and anyone who uses MCP I also regard as a moron, it means they passed one exam and are too dumb to keep going. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB developer. - Larry Antram 22 Oct 2002

Again, you can screw up a C/C++ program just as easily as a VB program. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

:Quickly checks that my MCSD credentials are not mentioned in the articles: Yeah, MCP cred's are crap. BTW. MCP means that you "struggle to improve your career chances, but either don't have much money to spend, or are to dumb to earn more, anyway"

If you make $70,000 a year as a programmer working 100 hours a week, it's close to the same hourly rate. Therefore, you'll be happier flipping burgers. Marc Help! I think I may have stumbled on the ideal way to meet women! Halfway through my class on preparing income taxes it dawned on me - what better way could I ever find to meet single, well-employed or wealthy women? They have to disclose everything to me, without the barn dancing routine of the dating scene - address, phone, age, # kids, #ex-husbands, income, investments... This could be a great Spring!:-D I'll have a full report April 15... "How many times do I have to flush before you go away?" - Megan Forbes, on Management (12/5/2002)

Yes, but you would have to admit to being a tax accountant. Kiss of death! I'd rather be flipping burgers :-)

In India Subia Hashmat, 11 and Supriya Singh, 12 are probably the youngest "person ever to attempt and clear the Microsoft Certified Professional examination." Story at http://www.rediff.com/computer/1999/aug/04mcp.htm Meanwhile in Pakistan a 12-year girl Sheeza Ahmed "is the youngest Microsoft Certified System Engineer".
