Why the Taleban get so much support

They are not the same people. That is like saying the French are like the Spanish, or the English are like the Scots. Both Pakistan and Afghanistan are made up of many different smaller tribes, rather than one big country split in two.
I know, but as I stated elswhere in this thread, Waziristan (in Pakistan) shares a common culture with the Taliban of Afghanistan so its not surprising they have support there. And who put the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan?

I saw a documentary on TV about the English Defense League. It seems that the populace is not as spine less as the politicians.

Actually, almost every country on earth, including Pakistan, has used murder, kidnapping, and torture to further it's advancement and control. Religion and racial discord have usually been the lead causes with money coming in right behind it. My opinion of course. ;)

Its not racist, I have noticed that you share my view that many foreigners have more likeable characteristics than our fellow En-ger-lish, and many immigrant groups have been a very positive influence that have made this country better, but at the end of the day their is a limit to the number of people this country can support, and the date that limit is reached will be a lot earlier if we carry on at this rate.

It is true that the UK is starting to look a bit of a dump. Young muslims with beards wearing sandals and those skirt/dresses they wear in Pakistan, wandering around the place. Really, cant they adopt Western clothing? If not they really arent going to get anywhere in life. --edit-- Their Parents adopted western dress so why the reversal? Its a stament of uninterest and hostility IMO. In which case they know where the door is.

Its uncomprehensible, especially when they probably get a large discount at Primark, on the account their children make the clothes.
I find it quite shabby and silly. Especially in winter? What bloke wants to wear a skirt in winter? Freezes your knackers off! As for burkahs. I really dont want to see a load of Darth Vaders walking around.

If you read about the formation of Pakistan you will see it is because the Muslims were unhappy with being forced to live under Indian rules and wanted their own country. And what a paradise they made it into.

Not all Muslims. It was leaders from both sides and their ego which was responsible for the partition, not the common man. Regarding Afghanistan & Pakistan the root cause of problem is the division of people by Durand line (which was result of treaties between the Britain and Russia).
