The 2nd time you did, your first post was not a perma-link (just a forum link that's browser, time, and session dependent)

As far as I remember, I clicked the "Link" link in that post and once it loaded fully, I copied the address in the browser URL bar and pasted it in my first post. If that did not make it a perma-link, then I guess there might be some issue with the site or connection at that time; or it might be my fault. Anyways, the thread has been moved and my request has been answered.

Ah, that's the problem. You need to right-click and copy the url. In the Lounge, if you click on the perma-link url, it reloads the page with the expanded url. :-)

If you click the permalink, it gets translated before the page loads, into a Lounge.aspx?... Seems to be a lounge-specific thing.
