Funny, I wonder if he simply used someone else's programs or if he programmed them himself ... or just a script kiddie ? somewhere at CNN.com[^] "If he didn't have such high moral fiber, he could probably make a lot of money off his abilities," said Wayne Norton, Reid's adviser. So, if he's really intelligent, and has good sense of moral, he doomed ? can't make money ? Max.

Sounds like all he did was run l0pht crack or some other brute force program on the log in. Not exactly hacking to me. The big question is, did he already have access to the application or did he hack his way to it? Or was he just sat down at a computer with access and told to have at it? It took three hacking programs less than a second -- 200 milliseconds to be exact -- to find the password to the school's computer, Reid said. It was the school secretary's name: Silvia. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! The kid ran a bruteforcer I guess and they call him a hacker!!!!!! Nish

They prolly logged in as root and left him at the # prompt :-) Any admin that uses Sylvia as his server root password would prolly think it safe to do so :-) Nish
