On a lighter note, http://www.salon.com/politics/wire/2002/12/20/segregation/index.html[^] reports about NC representative Cass Ballenger. It says:

Ballenger, a North Carolina Republican, had said in Friday's Charlotte Observer that former Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., so provoked him that "I must admit I had segregationist feelings." "If I had to listen to her, I probably would have developed a little bit of a segregationist feeling," Ballenger told the Observer. "But I think everybody can look at my life and what I've done and say that's not true. "I mean, she was such a bitch," he said.

I don't know about the US but in the UK the C-word is considered very offensive, many find it more offensive than "f*ck". -- Andrew.

My friends and I are sometimes very vulgar and aggressive to each others in talking, but we don't get mad about it, just a way to talk. Of course. But, you just never know who's gonna be reading what you write on CP (though in The Soapbox i generally don't worry about that ;)). I don't know about the US but in the UK the C-word is considered very offensive, many find it more offensive than "f*ck". -- Andrew.
