Marksmanship standards are falling along with all others... it's a shame to see. The only proper definition of 'gun control' is five rounds in the 10-ring! "How many times do I have to flush before you go away?" - Megan Forbes, on Management (12/5/2002)

I believe most of the stuff like this he has been saying on purpose. Most of his stuff is made by speech writers , and obviously for some reason they have been wanting to portray him as articulate. For example the mixed metaphor quote you posted is actually very clever after more than cursory analysis. It uses the high horse metaphore in the body of the main metaphor by altering just one word road to horse. Bush is taking a gamble that he will become the most quoted US President of all time. Mind you I'm sure a lot of folk believe that Al Gore invented the Internet now. Regardz Colin J Davies

Good point, James. It just sounds funny, because 'overseas' is often used as a generic term for foreign country. Colin, you talk as though he didn't. He, in fact, also developed the very means to solve problems at all. I've always thought it was really funny that people picked on him for saying this, considering that our largest single trading partner, Canada, shares a 2000+ mile long border with us. Those imports don't come from overseas! ;P -- Russell Morris "Have you gone mad Frink? Put down that science pole!"
