Hi, I'd just like to ask: Are there still people on here that dabble and/or work with Delphi? I'm just asking because I am in the process of posting several articles and tips and tricks regarding Delphi and I'd just want to know that my efforts to help people would not be in vain. I will still post the articles, don't get me wrong, I'd just prefer that the articles and stuff would be useful to the rest of the community. :)

Wow! My question has certainly brought several people out of the woodwork... and I am glad!!! I like the fact that this is a facet of a damn good part of development that is not just fading out. Yes it seems to be lacking with a few features (recently) like what VS offers... But... the minute you have a decent Delphi developer in your team, you will find someone who will be able to follow and develop things in just about any language you can thing of :)... (at least that's my humble opinion).

Yes, we still use delphi on a daily basis. We use remobject hydra to integrade c# code as plugins in our applications but our core product is still in delphi.

Yes - I still have a couple of production apps in Delphi. I do not use Delphi for new apps, these are all Visual Studio .. Dot Net. In it's day, Delphi was a brilliant product - producing lean mean EXE's that could do heaps without even being installed, or requiring a runtime. Dot Net has made us all a bit lazier, but more productive. The Visual Studio environment also aids productivity .. sorry Delphi .. I think your days are numbered. I started with Turbo Pascal 1.0 and worked my way up to Delphi 2010, but wasn't planning on upgrading any further. Gary

Hi, This is not the forum for asking programming related questions. Please use the "Ask A Question" option from the website. Please also ensure that your question is (relatively) clear as well so we can best ascertain what your particular issue/problem is.

Last October, I posted 2 Delphi related articles. I was sort of surprised when I noticed that there was not even an option to select Delphi as the programming language. I have no idea if things have changed since then. I know lots of developers have abandonned Delphi programming in favour of C#, but that was unfortunate, they must reconsider and come back. ;)

m8, I work with both Delphi and C# now... C# is great, but I still stick to my roots... My motto is: use the tool that best suites the job... People will always go through phases and the same goes for dev languages I guess :|... Still... let's get the Delphi chaps up and running here!!! :D

Yes, indeed. I've used Delphi since Turbo Pascal as my sole language for desktop. All my work (medical equipment) is Delphi. There has never been a technical reason to switch, and many technical reasons to stay with Delphi. It is still the most advance language IMHO. Later, Paul
