For example, If Member A asks Member B to up-vote all Member A's answers, Member A would get more rep points. Does CP site handles such cases? If so, how? P.S: Actually I thought of this while I found one member was featured in top expert in last 24 hrs section (with more than 500pts in last 24hrs), but when I looked into this recent activities like posting answer, messages etc there were no such activity in last 24 hrs. I was wondering then how could that member get 500pts in last 24hrs. The example above, I would think of, is one possibility.

Example... Someone answers 10 questions over 24 hours ago. The people he answered each accept the answers given, thus 250 points to start with... A few platinums upvote at 40 points a time and the 500 plus points are gained within the current 24 hours without an answer being given.

Dave, your example is genuine case where top performers get rewarded. But, my question is, What if Member B intentionally up-votes Member A's few months old 40 answers in 15 minutes? Member A would then easily get 400pts even if Member B is silver. So, does CP handles such cases?

You could not say definitively that Member B was in cahoots with A, there is no proof. There are often unusual voting patterns, but it really shouldn't concern people, points are not converted to money you know! Why should this bother you so much? You have been a member for 48 hours, so just enjoy the site. As for older votes, consider this... You answer a question, and are rewarded at the time. Some months later the OP posts back about a particular issue on that answer. This moves it back to the top of the Q&A list where others see the answer and think it good enough to upvote. That way it could be 3 months after the answer was given and points are awarded. Use the site before criticizing the metrics.

Look at the Rep Points FAQ - the number of up and down votes a member can get for various items is limited. For instance, a user can get no more than 25 up and down votes in a given day. The same holds true for up/down votes for Q/A answers.

While the site does (and rightly so in my opinon) handle vote-bombing which is abuse, I don't think the site should worry about an author/member social engineering his way to higher reputation levels. It's outside the scope of the site's voting system in my opinion.

And I also agree with what Dave said, these cases are unusual patterns and doesn't bother much.

It might have something to do with her staff status while editing articles. In any case, 1400 points certainly isn't enough to be concerned about because even without those points, her rep score still supported by her editing activities. EDIT =================== Why was this voted down? I just don't understand.
