I considered flaming his ass off, but then realized that he has no idea what our email addresses are unless we reply. Being blessed with an essentially evil mind, I immediately stumbled upon a plot to harvest the emails of thousands of programmers in order to sell them inflatable dates and herbal Viagra substitutes. All you have to do is slam a website for software professionals with unwanted requests to use their code in your private distribution CD. That will piss them off so badly that they'll all immediately write back to you about what a jerk you are, and you'll have your mailing list right there in your Inbox for no cost at all! Isn't that a great idea? Oh wait, I think someone may already have thought of it... Damn. So did I. I wonder if it is worth replying anyway, wouldn't that just encourage the guy? Also if I don't reply he therefore does not have any "written" permission and can't use my code? What one peson I heard of used to do was to send an email copy of a freeware bible c. 1.5MB to the the emailer, stating that he thought some religious reading would be approprite. People would assume he was a religious nut and stay well clear of him! If anyone accused him of spamming, he simply stated he was repling to an email and wanted to pass the word of God around. But with a hotmail account, his inbox will soon fill up!
