Since not all of us are as fortunate as you in having a high-speed connection, how about summarizing what it's about?

I tried, but can't watch it with my connection. Even so... Jason Henderson wrote: Most arguments against the potential war here on CP are at least founded upon some logic Ok please stop now; there is no need to talk down to us in that tone. :| If you don't intend it then I am sorry, but I think you do.

You know what I mean. "are at least founded upon some logic", or, "they at least make the effort to try and present a believable case" - like those alien abductees or that woman that 'saw the light' and was interviewed on NBC. As I said before, if I read you wrong I apologise, but it doesn't logically read like anything else given the tone. IMO the "some" was not necessary, that is what gives the negative impression.

Its kind of like when Jay Leno does is man on the street questions, except the questions were asked of the war protesters. The guy asking the questions is very civil and he is asking legitimate questions, like:

          • How much time should the inspections be given?
          • If war is not the answer, what do they think should be done?
          • etc...

But these people either dodged the questions, shouted at him, or stood there dumb founded.

*sigh* That is not what I said at all. My appology is there if you think it necessary. I have no interest in pursuing this any further.

I just checked, and I don't have any javascript in my sig, but it does use some of CP's classes like HoverLink. Those could be causing the problem I guess.

I understand your dislike of war, and I don't like it either, but I can't for the life of me figure out why war is not and cannot be the answer to some. Has the human condition changed that much in 50 years? Are we somehow less barbaric? There will always be evil in the world because humanity is inherently evil or at least has a propensity for doing evil. Until we can prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that evil has been vanquished completely from human society, we cannot rule out War as a possible solution to opposing the whims of evil men.

I'm wondering what are the long-term goals of this administration after they have their little war. So, I have a few questions myself. Are we still going to go after OBL? On an news site(yahoo news), one of the reports said that some believed the he was hiding in Iran. Are we going into there as well if it is indeed where he is hiding? What about rebuilding Afghanistan? Are we going to help build a solid infrastructure like we promised? quorum pars magna fui

It should be mounting a plan to go in afterwards and help the Iraqi people. Bigger mess on Bush' hands than he presently has. Those weapons are going to become even more available to terrorists once Saddam is gone. Ugh, it is all going to come unstuck.

Sure Stan, Looks like I read the news post wrong, it was other news about Iran, Iraq, and OBL in the same story. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=578&ncid=578&e=5&u=/nm/20030211/ts_nm/attack_cia_dc[^] But, if he is hiding in Pakistan like the official says he might be, why aren't we directing out might after him there? Why is SH more important than OBL? And, how many countries will we have to declare war on? Like I said, I'd like to see some long term plans. quorum pars magna fui

Along the same lines, I am concerned about how many invasions our leaders will begin on this hunt for all that is wrong. "Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;" quorum pars magna fui

Take a camera and shoot some interviews with people from the "other side", and you'll get equally idiotic interviews. :) - "Why should we bomb Iraq?" - "Duuuh.. because Bush says so? And they have something called WMD..." If you glance around, you'll find morons in all groups in society. All over the world. :) -- Chatai. Yana ra Yakana ro futisha ta?
