More war talk[^] but this has nothing to do with Iraq. :) An article about a book, The Separation by Christopher Priest, which puts forward an alernate history in WWII. Now there are a zillion alternate histories for WWII, but as the author of the article notes this one is a bit different. It actually has Germany and Britian signing a peace agreement and the war as we know it not really ever happening. I am sure many of you war nuts will poo poo his plot, but hey, I found it interesting. Also one thing I read startled me: Britian is still paying off it's war debt to the US. Will only finish in 2006. Amazing.

Interesting yes, but dependant on Hitler being removed from power and a government that was not as aggressive taking over. Hitler had made numerous pacts of non-agression, most notably with the USSR. So why should one with Britian be kept, if he was still the leader. But I agree, given Hitler was eliminated by one the the plots, history as we know it could be very different. Last I heard, the rest have reneged entirely, or were forgiven their debts to the US to prevent their national economies from going into the dumpster. Kudos to Britain for being an honorable nation. It is ok for women not to like sports, so long as they nod in the right places and bring beers at the right times.
