In the parliament building in Sweden has a contraption on the incoming water pipes that "demagnetizes" and "whirls" the water to make it more "healthy". All because two politicians demanded it. The caretaker couldn't be bothered to fight with them, so he called the press instead. I just wonder what kind of new age religion they worshipped?

In the USA the needs of the vocal one out weigh the needs of the silent many.

Yes, and the answer, ironically enough, is in the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:7, "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." Intelligent people are less humble and being humble is one of the requirements for following the spiritual process to discover God. Rich people are also less likely to believe in God for the same exact reason. Also, the Bible said, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into the kingdom of heaven. The eye of the needle is not literal but refers to the doorways to the city where the camels had to kneel down to get through. Basically, any group of people (rich, intelligent, etc, etc) that are not humble will show the same results.

There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

The word you are looking for is 'arrogant'. Rather certain that you would be hard pressed to prove that intelligent people are significantly more arrogant that those that are less intelligent. And I suspect showing the same for wealth might take some doing. For example I would suspect there are many people in the US that are in fact very wealthy compared to other regions of the world but would not consider themselves "rich" at all. And certainly there are people in poor regions of the world that are very poor compared to average citizens in the US but for their area they are "rich". And perhaps arrogant.

Arrogant, prideful, not humble, stiffnecked, whatever. The specific word is not important.

Perhaps you do not personally know any intelligent people. Just my experience alone confirms what I have said let alone the studies that have been done.

Yes, wealth is relative. Those that are poor in the US tend to be more humble than those that are rich in the US, but a totally unlrelated topic is your point that the poor in the US are still wealthier than some of the rich in other countries. This is a generalization. There are always exceptions.

Perhaps you do not personally know anyone whose intelligence is less than average. And given the fuzzy nature of "intelligence" perhaps you do not know anyone who is ignorant.

As per your other statement perhaps you do not in fact know anyone that is poor. Or your only contact is via some setting in which only those that are humble are likely to participate. Or perhaps your definition of poor and thus how you categorize them is different than the actual measured statistics.

What I have seen is the "poor" in the USA seem to want demand everything. Example: They can get free cell phones with more minutes than I pay for. I know this is just the vocal poor, unfortunately, giving the hard working poor a bad name.

Why do people believe a cell phone is a must? Heck when I was a kid we had party lines! (One phone to a house multiple houses to a line).

Wow. Someone who agrees with me. How rare. :) I've actually discussed this on CP and most people seem to think they are a necessity. I don't have one and get along fine. I'll get one when I need one.

I read somewhere that there's an overrepresentation of believers within people running their own company, maybe they're mostly poor.

If you are referring to the 'eye of the needle' it was actually the small door to the side of the main gate that was always open, when the main gate was closed for defense (night time). For a merchant to enter the 'eye of the needle', he had to unload his camels, carry every package through the wall one by one, and then pull the camel on its knees through the eye while someone behind the camel beat it with a stick to keep it moving. Edit: I've found that many things I don't understand in the Bible actually have very understandable explanations... and are quite amazing if you dig deep enough.
