buzzword from parent company

My Buzzword for today is "Workshop" not in the actual definition but how it's used. For example. The technical masterminds at the parent company called and asked if they could set up a workshop to see how we work for an upcoming project. Why the elephant can't they just say meeting?
Every day, thousands of innocent plants are killed by vegetarians. Help end the violence EAT BACON

It's not the same thing. At a meeting, you can just show up, tune out and go to sleep peacefully. At a workshop you feel pressured into actually making a small (but insignificant) contribution, thus being forced to stay awake. Sneaky tactics if you ask me! :sigh:
Anything that is unrelated to elephants is irrelephant

I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific.

Because a meeting is usually where a bunch of people sit a listen to someone rabbit on. A workshop where all the attendees work together to solve a problem and produce some output from the session. Simples... When I hear workshop, I get the instant "oh no, I'm going to have to end up speaking to the audience about the findings our output from our table group  "

The category "Meeting" implies the attendees will listen to and/or discuss a topic. The category "Workshop" implies the attendees will engage in some form of hands on activity. A meeting is usually outcome based, while a workshop is usually learning based.
