"I've solved this myself!" clarification?

I've noticed recently that new users are using the "I've solved this myself!" to show how they have incorporated the Solutions proposed by others and then they get downvote slammed apparently for posting their final state as a new Solution. The downvote makes them hesitant to ask further questions or they think about just giving up on CP. I don't know how to alleviate this. Different text? "I solved it myself independent of proposed solutions" ... yeah, way too wordy! A different way to designate it so it doesn't appear to be an attempt to "game" the points system. ("What I finally did" vs. "Solution #")

I don't agree. If a user finds a solution for the problem he/she should be encouraged to share it.

Perhaps... But the solution should do something to discourage the downvoting of the user because they self-answered. That leaves a bad taste of CP for those users when we should be encouraging them to continue here.

Big No. I have seen more than bunch of enquirers shared solutions(Note : Few of them're first & only answer for questions). I have a habit of voting for those solutions. Recent one[^] Besides I don't think most of them care about points.

How about we don't award points for self-answering questions?
How about highlight Enquirer's self answer? And bring it to top of all answers.... This feature'll be useful when some one search for something in web, finds a CP question & sees a solution by Enquirer.

How about we don't award points for self-answering questions?
I'd suggest taking this one step further: the OP can only post comments on a thread they've started to solutions, or comments, by other posters; or (of course), edit their original post, and comments, and delete/revise/add content. This would eliminate a common source of "static" on the QA forums.
