I think it is pretty harsh to sack him. It was just unfortunate that SA lost Pollock should not be balmed for that. What is worse that they are appointing Graeme Smith as the captain! It looks to me that it is the beginning of downfall of SA cricket.

Geez! :omg: Links? Guess they were looking for a scape goat. :( And even if they did think it was his responsibility and he was to be blamed (even for the untimely rains), at least they should have given him a chance to step down on his own gracefully than being sacked. What a great man, and look how they treat him. :|

Yeah, count on the link genie to come up with the link everytime. :-D Thanks. :) IMO it's a knee jerk reaction, as Barry Richards says.

It's very sad the way things have unfolded. On Thursday they said the rumour of Pollock resigning was false, now they sack him. Surely it would be kinder - especially as he is a valuable member of the team, and will remain one - to leave it as a resignation. I do hope this won't lead to unhappiness which will have a lasting bad effect on the team - brings back memories of the time after Pollock took over from Hansie. Luckily the country does stand behind the team, if anyone can handle it in a manner which will bring the least damage to the team, I'm sure Shaun can.

No, I'm on a dial up. I used Download Accelerator to download it. I get a speed of 5-6kBps, which I guess is higher than many parts of India. :| I mean in Delhi, I've heard you get a mere 1-2 kBps.
