              As long as there's no state regulation, the market is sadly the only element which can push car industries to search for an alternative. I thought that California was a pionneer in the regulation of the pollutions emitted by cars. Is it always true?

                As long as there's no state regulation, the market is sadly the only element which can push car industries to search for an alternative. I thought that California was a pionneer in the regulation of the pollutions emitted by cars. Is it always true?

It looks like things are going in the right direction. But still the major Auto companies have to be making money off of these hybrid/all electric cars to eliminate our dependancy on gas/oil. I think another factor is style and HORSEPOWER.;P It has always been my belief that the vehicle people drive is a direct reflection of their personality. (Those who don't agree are obviously lacking one.) If the mere point of the vehicle is to get from point A. to point B., well a moped will do the trick. We need alternate fuels that will not only be efficient, but will provide the POWER most auto enthusiasts desire. I am all for alternative fuel vehicles, but I would never trade up my 300ZX for a 40MPH top-speed electric vehicle. (All IMO of course ;P ) - Nitron
