Many are suggesting that everyone learn computer programming, and that coding be a core component of our educational system. Here's a more measured approach.

Kids nowadays never use punctuation. I'm guessing the semicolons rule out C#.

That'd be much more valuable  After cooking a few meals outside of my parents house, I quickly installed a fire-alarm. It has saved my arse quite some times. The text that "everyone should learn programming" is coming from some outdated dimwits from the teaching-industry that does not even know the difference between "operating" a computer and "programming" one. Schooling should be banned, and education reinstated.

I can see teaching code as a good way to introduce logic, but then it would just be a tool as opposed to a goal in itself.

Back in my day we didn't have debug points. We used printf and we liked it. :-\
