Maybe Bush is ignorant. Not all ignorant are stupid! Saddam was given an opportunity to leave Kuwait during the invasion, but he didn't. Now he's given an opportunity to flee, but he stays. Really stupid!

Why would he leave, at least publicly? BW "We get general information and specific information, but none of the specific information talks about time, place or methods or means..." - Tom Ridge - US Secretary of Homeland Security

If he doesn't leave, he's gonna bite the dust. And that's exactly what he's been trying to avoid all along by having doubles, bunkers, political persecution and what not!

If he leaves, he's dead anyway, whatever the country he could reach.

Apparently some of them came to their senses as soon as they realised they might be in danger. Almost two weeks ago I heard on the news that many British human shields were on their way home as their safety could not be guarenteed or some such nonsense. If it wasn't so sad that people can be this naive it would be hilarious.

The volunteers were there to protect civilian areas like hospitals and schools, some of them decided to leave because the Iraqis were starting to giving them assignments. Those that stayed, are protecting places like water reservoirs that are very important, as you probably know, for the survival of the civilians. I can't think of anything more corageus (spelling?), than what those people are doing, it is only a week ago the Israelian army murdered an American woman who was trying to protect the home of palestinians in the occupied areas.
