La Jolla, CA and Nice, France — February 11, 2015 — The University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNS) is teaming up with MadCap Software to ensure that students pursuing a master’s degree in its Applied Foreign Languages program have a strong competitive advantage in the fields of content development, technical communications, content localization, and content strategy. UNS chose MadCap Flare–the versatile content development software that supports the ability to publish to a number of devices and formats including print, Web, desktop and mobile–to provide students with the most advanced authoring and publishing solution available today. Additionally, UNS is incorporating MadCap Lingo–the XML-based computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool–to support translation and localization best practices. As a result, students will build their expertise in modern technical writing, localization and translation techniques through hands-on experience with the software used by thousands of companies across the globe. Understanding Modern Technical Writing and Translation UNS is a prestigious training and research institution located in the French Riviera, which offers a range of high-quality teaching programs in a scenic study environment. With an ever-growing number of scholars and professionals from around the world, international students currently make up nearly 20% of UNS's student population. To enhance its students’ learning experience and advance their skills, UNS has updated its "Master 2 Pro LEA Business Translation Writing" course with MadCap Flare and MadCap Lingo. The course will provide an introduction to modern approaches for technical writing using MadCap Flare’s functionality for topic-based authoring, content reuse, and single-source multi-channel publishing. Additionally, it will have students dive into real-scale projects focused on localizing modern desktop, mobile, and Web-based computer applications and then processing them for translation with MadCap Lingo. "Since the beginning of UNS's technical writing course in 2013, we have been committed to providing our students with innovative methods and tools to thrive in the pervasive field of business content management,” said André Vanderschueren, University of Nice Sophia Antipolis technical writing instructor. “I am thrilled to have MadCap Flare and Lingo bring this course to the next level, providing our students with the skills to enable leading-edge localization practices with effective content management and reuse.” “We are excited to join f
