Not me yet, but the place I work for just let go of 30% of the dev team and prob 50% of the QA team. But, not a single BA was let go despite the fact that prior to this "Right Sizing" (they actually said that in the meeting! asshats)the ration of BA's to developers was almost 2:1. Another disturbing thing about this is that they cut the employees first while us contractors are still standing. Hey don't worry, I can handle it. I took something. I can see things no one else can see. Why are you dressed like that? - Jack Burton

What's a BA, besides a Bachelor of Arts? And where do you work? :-D Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.

Chris Losinger wrote: employees are expensive. contractors are cheap and disposable. I guess, but a lot of these people will be worse of than I would have. My contract requires them to give me 90 days notice or pay my wages for that period of time. I just feel bad for them because soo much of the decision was political and not based on effort or performance. [edit] I guess I should have clarified and said that the emp.'s were only given 2 weeks severance. Hey don't worry, I can handle it. I took something. I can see things no one else can see. Most contracts have a termination cause that make it costly to change at short notice. Which when you have cut backs is a big factor.
