Skype is such a Bitch app. It shouldn't be in MS Office suite.

Hmmmm, I like Skype and I've been using it for a number of years. Maybe you should check out [Microsoft Teams](https://products.office.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/group-chat-software) and see if that works for you. It has full [interoperability with Skype](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-and-skypeforbusiness-interoperability). Best Wishes, -David Delaune

That's not completely true. It really depends on who is using it. Students and teachers are eligible for Office 365 Education[^]. Best Wishes, -David Delaune

                The Register article says

                Quote:

the vulnerability is present in Skype for Windows versions 7.40 and lower. In October 2017, Microsoft released version 8 without the flaw, so if you kept up to date, you're fine. If you're running version 7, get version 8.

but my Skype is v 7.4x and when I click "Check for updates" it tells me I am already running the latest version.... ??

I'd highly recommend that you enable "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows" in your Windows Update settings. Otherwise would need to manually update by downloading the fixed installer from Get Skype[^]. Best Wishes, -David Delaune

That option is checked in Windows Updates settings - but even if it is wasn't, it's odd that Skype is telling me I have the latest version (assuming the Register article is correct).

Skype is a S**t. We regularly use Brosix. Very reliable.

We had lot of security flaws due to the app easily being not protective in chat environment. Buggy app Lync a.k.a Skype should be doomed.

Skype is not HIPPA complaint. For that reason we don't use it. Regards, Patric
