Pro golfer Vijay Singh has taken his little balls and gone home because he's afraid of being beat by lady golfer Annika Sorrenstam. What a wuss!! I can picture Vijay in a treehouse, like the Little Rascals, with a sign on the door "No Girlz Aloud". What is wrong with that punk? Does he have little balls in his pants as well as his golf bag?

Vijay didnt say it the right way, but the guy has a point that is quite important. Women have the LPGA, women's spas, health clubs, girl scouts, women's schools, and a whole bunch of other organizations that restrict men from joining. The problem is that there has to be a line drawn at some point, otherwise, males will not have anything left of their own. Men cannot lose the right to have organizations that are male only, and we are slowly seeing every male organization being invaded by women. Annika was invited by the sponsor of the tournament so she has the right to be there, and she probably should be there, but I think we should cut Vijay a little slack.

Why not let women in if they can make it? It's the PGA, not the MPGA. Of course, the LPGA exists, at least in part, because the women can't compete with the men on the existing courses. Same with tennis. An open competition would find the top players to be the same top men with the best woman well down in the draw. What have the LPGA members had to say about this?

I love watching golfers argue over golf related issues. Mainly 'cause, now I know this is shocking, it's just a game. And a very boring game at that. I agree with George Carlin "Golf courses jsut take up too much space. And the space isn't even used for anything good...What we need to is replace the golf courses with housing for the homeless." I think all you really need is a driving range and some mini-golf courses. Then you'll be set. .............Zack............. Developer Extraordinaire "It's all about function over form. He's not afraid of losing, he just doesn't want to answer the constant questions about the dumbass things he said about Annika. But he at least could've come up with something better than "I promised my wife I'd take a week off." What BS Of course, Annika isn't doing any better. She ducked reporters on Monday who were waiting for her to arrive at the course. If she's going to do something that's so high-profile and such a big deal, she's a coward to not stand up and answer questions about it. --Mike-- Latest blog entry: *drool* (Alyson) [May 10] Ericahist | Homepage | RightClick-Encrypt | 1ClickPicGrabber "You have Erica on the brain" - Jon Sagara to me

Is that the black guy that was on the news last night, saying (in front of the cameras) that he didn't want to play if the lady golfer was playing because he'd never be able to stand up after being beaten by a woman. No really - this guy actually said that on camera. And no that shouldn't be taken literally - I don't mean him being physically beaten up by a woman

I'm also not sure of the name, but saw the same thing. I found it especially strange that a black man would make these comments after his parents had probably had to fight for him to recieve equal treatment. It's a strange world, and prejudice seems to come in many shapes and sizes. What a shame.

Annika would have about as much a chance of beating Vijay as I would - and I am a terrible golfer. Not that I care who plays against whom but the women will get my support for their cause as soon as I see them admitting men into the LPGA events. I am however driving out for the Saturday rounds just because of all the hype and media blast - hope Annika is still in there. Colin, while I accept that cultural differences influence us, I believe anyone making millions of dollars from American tournaments and American sponsors needs to adapt. When in Rome (the city in New York state, that is), do as the Romans do. I don't know anything about his fiasco. If he learned from it, perhaps he can also learn how to "play well with others", including girls.
