      They should have said that at the beginning of the article; it's the only real point to make. As long as nerds get what they believe to be bonus points for doing things that are indecipherable to other people (more indecipherable or to more people = more bonus points*), there will an abundance of *nix-ey command-line nonsense. * Calculations of the scoring are, of course, carried out using a custom-built database which has a black screen and command prompt as its UI, and 43 back doors.

        Sounds like they are looking for PowerShell :) Such a massive improvement over text pipeline CLI scripting.
