Nop. I don't get offend so easily. In my view it's just wrong to insult someone's religion and believes like that. That's it. It don't impact me personally at all. I'll report the message in Spam and Abuse. Thanks

If we had that attitude in the past, we would still consider the earth to be flat.

Wow, looks to me like you guys get to debate politics and religion in your special forum, and the rest of us don't (i.e. removal of Soapbox). And now offending posts are being created, and coming to the surface. I would not advertise this to the general population, as Bob may have to step in (i.e. removal of the Soapbox). Just saying...

Changing the rules of that forum so that everyone had to post in the native language of their home state would create a wonderful babel and largely resolve the problem.

First off, you spelled my name wrong. Second, Reasoned and logical is always insulting to the religious. Third; I will respect you, but not your petty opinions on religion. I will attack your ideas, never your person. That's the only road to progress. Religion is stifling that, and it is not a good idea to live outside reality. Mankind must abandon fairy-tales and wishfull-thinking if it is to grow. IMHO, religion is a form of child abuse and should be forbidden, globally. And I will keep repeating that untill I am banned from this forum. I respect anything living, but I don't have to accept nor respect any of your brainfarts. Respect the human, not their ideas. If idea's aren't challenged, then any fantasy is for sale as the truth. If you say that these are holy, then conflicting nonsense (religions) will cause deaths again. Also, anyone who cannot accept reality should not have voting-rights, nor have any other influence on society.

True religion is showing love and respect to all people irrespective of their views, opinions, or habits; and being willing to learn from others. To not do so is bigotry, not religion. It is sad that so many people use religion as an excuse to peddle their private forms of hatred even when their scriptures preach love for their fellow man (or woman).

Not accepting reality and making your own set of beliefs holy has that effect. People will kill each other for their Gods, while being kind can be done within reality and doesn't need fantasy. To credit religion for people doing good is sick; people are naturally altruistic. There is nothing good in religion. It is a abomination, teaching kids that they go to hell unless they believe in the nonsense. It should be banned, globally. And fuck the nonsense about non-violence and the good of religion; there's been to much murder to prove it ain't so. I do not see stories about Muslim (or whatever) feeding Christians (or whatever) just to do good. They kill each other for views that are outdated, and are evil for keeping the problem alive. Or simpeler, if you are religious, you are part of the evil; and I will oppose that sickness, because it is morally right.

Yes, I did spell your name wrong, my apologies - but I realised immediately and corrected it immediately too. If you had a name like mine (there's a reason I use "TP" not my full surname) you'd be very used to that; most people don't do it deliberately! I will share, (and this is something I rarely disclose) that I was myself once very religious; indeed I quit a great job in London to effectively become a missionary. I encountered plenty of conflicting views but never once, even for a moment, did I feel offended or insulted by those who expressed their choice not to share my beliefs. Those in the community I belonged to similarly didn't take offence or feel insulted. There are, of course, plenty who would feel that way but that's their problem. But please don't assume that challenging someone's viewpoint / belief / faith will necessarily be taken as an insult by them. (Though I know that would not bother or restrain you anyway :) ) I'd wish you a Happy Christmas, but...  BTW, you speak of "the only road to progress", with the implication that you think "progress" is a good and necessary thing. "Progress" also implies value judgements, and in turn a set of beliefs as to what is "good"... sounds pretty much like a "religion" (belief in some non-human sentient overlord is not a necessary component of religion). ;) It's a nice irony that your CP signature refers to a concept that originates wholly from religion and has been used for much of history to invoke fear and compliance in those who believe in certain religions... or were you just born in a small town about 25Km east of Trondheim? (In a further irony, that's very close to where I spent 3 months peddling my faith to the local junkies and alcoholics)

There's no discussion, I'm simply explaining why religion is evil and must be opposed. Read the arguments again, and you will see I have no other choice than to oppose, regardless of where we are.

I really didn’t wanted to this post to go this way and yes in my view you are correct and agree with you on your point in religion...my belief is it’s the biggest con job ever created and that is my belief however if someone chose to believe in any religion or god that doesn’t mean one should insult them any ways...it’s their choice and I would never insult anyone just because they believe in some religion or god. Like I have a choice of not not following any religion other person also have all the right to follow what they think is correct for them.
