    My weekend road trip last year was to (not Chicago) Illinois.

    Road Closed Did find a road that was closed.... I guess barricades aren't good enough Dorothy pic And I did learn something about the origin of The Wizard of Oz


    These little 3 day jaunts are to just to see what is there that you don't hear about; and typically are done on the country roads instead of freeways.

      I'm sure that had they used ordinary barricades, the low-information drivers would have driven around them - right off the end of the road. They would then have sued the city/county/state for not adding "this means YOU!" to the sign. :sigh:

        Maybe its just the angle of the photo, but there's something slightly unsettling about the statue of Dorothy. Something about the eyes makes me think of The Shining, or something.
