Of those 40%, 100% are horny :D I don't really see the issue though. People, especially women, use all kinds of toys, so why not a human-looking (and human-behaving!) toy? Some well-trained AI is certain to hit that spot. And while an advanced sex robot is probably pretty expensive, it's probably still cheaper than the real deal in the long run :laugh:

Perhaps you can't see the difference because you've never been part of a good, strong marriage. Believe you me, it is much more than a mere sexual relationship. While I grant you the possibility of developing robots ("male" or "female") that are extremely good in bed, I doubt you could ever develop with them the bonds of affection, loyalty, and, yes, love that you have in a good marriage that has lasted for decades.

It encourages you to stay in an unhappy position, which can result in feelings of desperation (especially when money is involved) and even violence. In the Netherlands, over 50% of marriages end in divorce. Besides, why wouldn't you want people to walk away when they're clearly not into each other anymore? I'd rather be happy alone than unhappy together. Maybe being happy together is even better, but there's no need to get married for that. I'd say the impediment is about at big when you're just living together, you have shared stuff, like maybe the house, the car, maybe children or a dog, you'd still have to tell all your relatives, get things sorted out with the government (you can't just live together and then don't)... You can share a life without getting married.

I'd much rather have a party with some close friends where I'm also not the center of attention. All in all, I do not want to get married.
