    Some folks try to make progress on the current status quo by arguing that, since human error is inevitable (people make mistakes!), it should be the beginning of the investigation, rather than the end.

      In an infinite Universe, all paths, no matter how improbable, will eventually be explored. Given that some of these paths are "wrong", Universal avoidance of error is impossible. Only in a finite Universe would it be possible (though not probable) to completely avoid error.
