Somewhat surprised to not see this mentioned here or in the Lounge. Dr. Frederick P. Brooks died on 17 November. The obit/article doesn't mention it, but for those that don't place the name right off, he was the author of the Mythical Man Month, as well as quite a few other accomplishments. RIP
